DURBAN QUEEN

PART 1 IDLEYES

Peer through crystal window pane
Trees in line and waving at me
Their quest for warmth farewells the rain
Lungs of life, so beautiful and free

Across the skies and over Indians' Ocean
To the vibrance of Durban and its Queen
Jackie is her name, bearer of intoxicating potion
Wonder of the world who has to be seen

Dream on! Dream on! Next it be me!
That my iris ordinaire shall glimpse and amaze
Through a hope of travel to afar country
For a taste of offering in Jackies' ways

With lions roar and springboks leap
Distance and time stands still with awe
Sampled tastes of my Queen to keep
Through my window will open her door…..
